The Association's primary statutory objective of "spreading the knowledge and study of photography." The achievement of this objective requires a series of pre-requirements, both in terms of resources both in terms of organization, that the Association has the task of locating and / or make available. At the same time, the activities of the Association determine the effects on the territory that, although starting from the scope of the specific photograph-promote a virtuous circle-other positive and significant actions. The Association, which does not arise as a vicious tendency to withdraw into himself but rather presents itself as a center of inclusion that operates as a hub between the activities of the members and the enjoyment of those who are reached by his message.
Among the activities of the Association there are recurring and predictable initiatives from the large and consolidated visibility as well as by the significant (and even demanding) commitment in terms of resources (human, technological, financial, organizational) needed for their completion. In this regard it should be noted that typically Photography Festival every year (from 2013) does agree to Pomarico professionals (Italian and foreign) of fame and international value, as well as a large number of photo-experienced and enthusiastic amateurs, which is accompanied by the great mass of visitors in their capacity as users of exhibitions and events open to all. Palace Marchesale Donnaperna'''' plays a dual role in this context: centripetal, as a place of choice for moments "institutional" (but even some of those operating); centrifuge, in his capacity as physical and conceptual window, which invites you to discover the beautiful and diverse territory that surrounds it. The meaning of all this is implemented in the observation that the Festival, although wanted to and exercised by experts and "experts", expresses its function even addressing an audience "generalist", promoting not only tourism but also the propensity culture. A further institutional moment of the Association is made up of the training courses that are conducted through formal and structured, aimed at both beginners and the advanced fotoa-Amateurs who want to enrich their knowledge. It should not be, in this context, ignore the value in terms of socialization and exchange of experiences that develops in the working groups.
Among the activities extemporaneous there are those which are organized and performed in moments and conditions that are defined from time to time. Consider, for example, the "outputs" photographic stressed by unexpected events or those related to projects that are designing this year. As it is quite clear, these activities have a close relationship with the planned start of the year and with the territory. Of great documentary value turns out to be the inevitable presence of the members in the places where folk events that enliven the spirit identity of many communities (including very different matrices) that characterize and enrich our region.
Looking, then, the relationship of the Association with the territory, it is an organic fabric that one side sees the photographer access to the aesthetic, historical, anthropological and other - with the roles reversed - requires access to economic operators that can so take advantage of increased demand for goods and services (specialized communication, transportation, hospitality, catering ...).
